Ive put a towbar and 18 pin socket on my FL2 with little difficulty.
As all the electrics work on my trailer and the signal indicator on the dashboard works when the trailer is connected I couldnt see the point of getting it coded (I think that's the correct term) for having a towbar.
Sure the reversing sensors emit a continuous sound on reversing the trailer but that's no big deal.

But is there anything else that would be changed by having it coded?

Its been suggested to me that the electronic stability program is altered but I doubt that as the car has no idea of the mass that Im towing at any particular time.

So is it worth the effort / £s getting it coded ?

The only legal requirement is the 'trailer light' which you have, so as long as you're happy with putting up with the noise on reversing then for a manual gearbox there is no more benefit.
An Auto has the addition of an 'Uphill and Trailer mode' and will have its box remapped adjusting torque and changes, but of no benefit to you.

Regarding the weather, this rain has really brought misery to hundreds of people. I know they have to vent their anger at someone but where you save by flood defences in one place you just move the problem onto another

I've also put yesterday a towbar, but the trailers lights are not working. I've put LR wiring, 13 pins, exactly as per scheme. Where to search the fault?

It shouldn't make no difference to a cool engine, the Stop Sart should not activate until the engine is up to operating temperature, battery fully charged etc

It also disables the rear fog lights, when a trailer is pluged in, and only operates the trailer's fog lights. Which stops the blinding glare from the reflection off the front of a caravan.
