Gps voice guidance

Am I the only person who finds the voice guidance extremely annoying!.
It tells you what to do at 400 yards, then again at 200 yards so basically repeated straight away then again when you are on the junction. Is there anyway of changing the set up in the settings, telling you twice would be quite enough.

I have to say I have to agree with that one, on a trip away with the lads they commented on how often the satnav told me to turn, eventually they were sat in the back watching a movie and boozing whilst I drive back and they were like a trio of Censored parrots

I looked and couldn't find a way of stopping it, unless canceled fully Confused

I quite like the satnav but can't see any reason to have the voice guidance switched on, so mine is always off. Anyone who can't find their way to within 1/2 mile of their destination with just a map should probably be on the bus or in the back of a taxi ( Wink ). However, I do like to see the miles to run and estimated time to arrival and also a quick check of alternative routes if necessary.

I like to see the distance to the next 'event' and I really like the motorway display but other than that I don't know if this sat nav is the best around or the worst. You select a route and it will suddenly try to take you off it without saying why. It will take you up the slip road off the motorway and then back on down the other side.

I looked into having it taken out and a portable put in the screen gap but I can do better with £500.

I also looked into a different bluetooth setup as the kit in the FL2 doesn't work well with the iPhone 4. The Parrot in my Golf works fine so it's not the iPhone.

When I dial a number nothing is heard - no dialling or ringing - until the phone is answered. If you can tell me how to get it to work I'll be a happy bunny.

Hi Tyke
I had this trouble too, the latest iPhone update has cured the fault and it now works perfectly. I now some people have had phones changed because of this fault, go into apple store and stamp your feet a little Thumbs Up

Don't know if this is anything to do with the latest iPhone upgrade but I just tried the phone in the car again. If I make the call from the car everything works OK. If I make the call using voice dialling then the same thing happens as before, no dialling or ringing sound.

Now here's the thing. I make a call using voice dialling and immediately hang up. Then I press the right hand knob on the panel twice which activates 'last number dialled' then dials the last number dialled and the call dials out normally.

It's a bit of a bodge but it works.

Edit:
Just been out again. A double press of the green button does the same thing.

Get out the car turn on the spot three times.

Give the whole vehicle a quick detail polish.

Get back in the vehicle and fasten/unfasten the seat belt 47 times.

Then I press the right hand knob on the panel twice which activates 'last number dialled' then dials the last number dialled and the call dials out normally.

It's a bit of a bodge but it works - "Designed by Apple".

I find my satnav ok but is it possible to change the voice to a male voice rather than the irritating woman? I quite like a masterful man telling me what to do (sometimes) Laughing 59 TD4e XS in galway green
