FL2 Comercial rear window operation ???

Hi all,

I am new to FL2 ownership and am looking for some help, really sorry if this has been posted before but I am struggling to find answers anywhere !

I have just bought an 08 commercial as a "Dog wagon" but I need to get the rear windows to start working. I have removed all the covers, it seems all the hardware is in place (window switches etc) but I guess there must be something that needs doing to get them working.

Possibly a software setting ? a relay ? or are the window motors not plugged in ?

ANY HELP would be greatly appreciated, I have rang my local LR dealer 3 times but obviously no one has called me back...

Thanks again

David

The rear windows are fed from FA3 and FA4 in the rear fuse box, maybe worth a look to see if they have been pulled?

Possibly software then as it needs to comply with commercial rules regarding VAT etc, what you need is a man with a box Thumbs Up

Quick update :

Pulled off the door trims and everything is where it should be, motors, regulators, wiring looms the lot !

Spoke to local LR dealer and they didn't even know you could get FL2 commercial !?!?

Now with my local specialist who plugged in and got the windows working as part of a test process, so it's just a case of programming the control unit from commercial to passenger vehicle....

Awaiting software update now !

I don't think you can get the commercial from the factory, Nene Overland did conversions on the standard Freely to Commercials among with others.

I believe Landrover stopped the Freelander Commercial around 2009

Only place to get a commercial now is nene overland. LR won't even do one through there SVO devision. The commercial would be handy for my greyhounds, hopefully LR make the next defender useable as an everyday car and I may take a hard top as my next car. 21MY Defender 90 S 3.0 D200

It's an old pic but you bet the idea, no rear seats just a flat load area and blacked out windows not tinted and a cargo divider behind the two front seats:thumbsup:

On some Commercial modifications the rear windows are sealed shut with a sealant to prevent them from being reactivated through a software change. The wiring etc may be in place but you should check whether the windows have been sealed shut or not.

commercial rear windows 09 reg

hi all,
ive been trying to enable the rear passengers windows to operate for ventilation for my dogs in transit ,reading posts on this forum and sister sites plus posting a few PM trying to glean information for the enabling of the windows , I have had success with my mates disco commercial door cards off mastic out of plug reconnect away you go , plenty of info for the disco s,the freelander2 commercial very little info and I cant find anyone whos been successful.

so first port of call landy indi , ex main dealer tech , he connected his laptop done his tests 15-20 mins came to a conclusion that I would need 4 new door modules to get round what soft-firmware that landrover had put on the central junction box vin No chip circuit board.not so happy with the decision .

next contacted main dealer explained my situation and reasons and they said they were willing to take the job on a no fix no charge for labour , charge only for hook up of laptop to landrover technical ,I removed the door cards at their request ,appointment made for 8.30am vehicle in service bay , 9.30 hrs tech came into waiting area explaining up to now situation , laptop connected all tests done wiring, door modules ,and window motors all connected and ok , waiting now for info back from landrover to down load password for restricted area to reprogram.10.15 tech back out to in form me landrover would not give them the password saying the vehicle has to stay as standard ie when it left the factory, the tech and service advisor apologised for landrovers decision and stating that when people bring in their vehicles for headlamp upgrades landrover will give them the password for reprogram so their vehicles are not staying standard for there specs

later I contacted landrover customer services by phone explained my situation and reasons for enabling rear windows and main dealer experience , 24hrs later phone call returned from landrover customer services landrover sticking by their decision not to supply the password and helping me out ,sorry for long drawnout post .but disappointed with landrover technical headquarters, just hoping some one may know the way round this problem,

I wonder if it might be possible to fit an old fashioned type sun roof? Might solve your ventilation problem. Ex AA Series III LWB Safari - Gone
