Dog Enthusiasts - Dogs re - homed

My friend for over 30yrs who lives by the shores of Loch Tay received a telephone call from the Scottish Terrier Rescue Charity last night - she's always getting calls from lots of charities because she's a very good egg.

They asked her if she could help out and look after "Hamish & Dougal" two ST's that have been abandoned by their Glasgow owners who are in the midst of divorce proceedings. The dogs are healthy both mentally and physically as I understand from her conversation and they will be arriving on Loch Tay this coming week.

But, she has 3 working collies at home plus 2 young born last week, and, pet sheep (yes two pets) plus cats, as well as over 200 sheep she farms and these two Scottish Terriers may well be not at best to blend in with her existing menagerie - let alone stay permanently.

So are there any of you who are out there experienced enough to not only like to have two ST's FOC but are capable of giving them a permanent suitable home Question

This is a long shot I know - but - if so PM me and I'll start linking you with my dear friend. Thanks.

Pity, they are a bit bigger than I am after. SWMBO is wanting a Tea Cup Yorkie! Rolling Eyes she's got me looking at ones hundreds of miles away!

Drive SWMBO and the kids down to Lou's - and they'll be smitten I'm sure.

I've got my hands full since last October's Loch Tay visit stopping Lou gifting one of her Collie's "pride of next litter" to my daughter after Lou cured her of her fear of dogs in under 48hrs. Lou took Rowena out with her dogs and the flock over hills n heather - after that young "Twig" had Rowena smitten. He'd be scratching at her door 06:30hrs every morning ready to run with her and work with the flock. If she could I'm sure she'd have smuggled Twig back to CH in the FL2.

I'll broach it tomorrow and see her reaction. Like most women, once her mind is made up, there's no changing it. I think my sisters 6 Bichons put her off that sort of size and multipulls, but you never know. She is desperate to get a dog despite her OCD! Rolling with laughter

I'll not dispute that.
Her Ladyship probably would not change her mind even if someone threatened to inject her with either of the two filoviridae viruses Shocked Stubborn does not describe her - at times suicidal is the appropriate adjective Banging Head

I see you've had the same kind of morning's greeting that I received. It's not my fault the clock went forward last weekend - but hell you'd think it was..............wouldn't want to be her first patient appointment this morning Whistle

Yep, but they can be totally different in the company of others. I'd call it Psycopathic personally. I started a sentence just now with, "I don't suppose..." she cut me off and told me, "not in her lifetime!" without even knowing the subject of my enquiry. I'll mention the dogs this afternoon when I have my tin helmet on.

Iain - good question and the short answer is no - but I can give Lou a call to find out. Back as soon as I have an answer, however now I have to take my daughter to her cello lesson so it will be later that I get back to you. Thanks for enquiring.

Or the Scottish way of naming girls, Dougalina and Hamishina!

Surprising how many girls, especially on the Outer Hebridies got called a boys name with an "ina" or simple an "a" at the end, like Donalda (Don-al-da) that said there were also a lot of Ben Angies, meaning wife of Angus and various derivations. Also a lot of double barreled names like Kitty Mary or first name and job, like Joan the Bank, Heather the shop Laughing it's an education.
