Australia 2008 Freelander 2 TD4 SE Auto Alaska White
Iphone, aux in, Hissing noise.

I have a TD4 SE, iphone 4s and I am trying to get good sound quality.

When I connect the Iphone to the AUX in between seats with A 3.5mm Jack, I get a hissing noise. I have tried pulling the jack in and out and have found that on adjustment the hissing goes away but then only the left side speakers work. Has anyone had the same problem and if so were you able to fix it?

i get a hiss only when i connect the power adapter to the ipod and the aux jack at the same time. Also when i have the ipod volume too low. RC Gorst

I don't recall any hiss.
I make sure that my volume on the iPhone is on the half way mark.
That may be why and worth a try.

Have you tried using the bottom socket (whatever its called) on the iPhone and not the headphone jack?

Always have a strong sound source and reduce it at the stereo end.

So turn up the volume on the iPod/iPhone/etc and turn it down as necessary on teh stereo - should help!!!! 2002 Honda VFR800

aux socket is miles away from the unit, you will probably get less interference with some sort of kit that plugs into the unit rather the the socket At work

mine used to do this. turns out i binned the lead and got a better quality one. fixed.

Yes if you use good quality leads should be fine, I had hiss when I used cheap leads now cured it
