sorry if this has been covered before but the heated windscreen does not appear to be working,is there any easy checks before it goes back under the warrenty (thats if its covered )

In the Engine compartment Fusebox/Battery JB, Windscreen heater relay coil is fed via F33 5 amp. Check this fuse and that the relay operates.
The heater elements themselves are split into Left and Right, both fed via 40 amp fuses F34 and F35, I doubt these have blown.

why don't you think its working ?? " Not being thick " just trying to understand your problem. Is it not defrosting the wind screen at all ? and are you sure you've got one lol

yup it does have heated screen,I have not needed to use it for weeks but the other night the screen was mistded quite bad used the program button but the front did not clear,however rear and mirrors did

Is it an original OEM screen should be able to tell by its logo might be able to tell if previous owner needed it swapping


Might not be connected, I believe The connectors are behind each A pillar cover, screw located behind airbag sign IIRC

misted up ? could be air con problem or re circulation ?

I removed and checked the fuses,all ok but my mate said when checking the relays where seated ok one felt as if it moved,So today I put on the heated screen and used a laser thermometer on the screen.temp read at 12c both sides and fan air temp was 11.5c. Less then a minute screen temp over 16c.The only conclusion we could think was poor contact on the fuses and or relay,but all appears to be fine thanks for the replys.

Could it be the air circulation button not sure what you call it but switched one way you get fresh air and the other it circulates inside the car I know when the wife drives the window mist up very quickly... Must be all that hot air..

The entire right hand side of my heated screen isn't working. This was replaced at a dealer (by Autoglass) about 6 months ago. I only got to use it anger for the first time recently! (was working away in the winter) It is a Land Rover screen.
As the entire side is not working and it's a new screen I assume that it is a connection problem, not an element failure. I have checked the fuses and they are OK.
Logic suggests a connection is adrift as per npinks post above. I am reluctant to start levering off panels with "airbag" written on them without a bit more guidance. Has anyone checked these connections before and able to give me a bit more detail on how to check the connections?
I appreciate I can return this to the dealer as they fitted it, however if it's a simple loose connection I'd rather do it myself than have the hassle of putting the car in.
Any help would be appreciated.

I'm going through same process at the moment. It will probably be a wiring problem at the bottom of the screen. Mine was replaced just before warranty ran out and it then stopped working on one side.LR said warranty runs out as soon as vehicle is three years old and windscreen company's one year warranty no good as company has gone bust! The windscreen wiper mechanism can break the very thin wire that connects screen to wiring loom. Previous owner of;

Connectors are under the plastic scuttle just under the windscreen - accessible by lifting the bonnet, they are not under the a pillers. Not done it myself but watched the auto glass man when he changed mine... When switched on, the element wires expand ever so slightly and become more visible. garioch43
