Coppers TV prog

Sat watching it tonight and they have been doing a speed trap in a 20 zone, absolutely no issues with that

But I thought they had to wear hi viz and have their car in full view

Were as they had their car round a corner and stood on the pavement wearing just black uniforms with no hi viz, stepping out into the road to pull the speeders over

Not so H&S been stood there in black Confused

If its a 20zone it's a pedestrian area and prob no need for hi viz.

Next year, all residential areas in Lancashire will become 20 mph zones and enforced. The sign of things to come, maybe 3 speed gearboxes will come back, we won't need any more Laughing

In Lancashire, speeding enforcement is carried out by A road safety partnership, Talivans parked everywhere.
This, supposedly, frees up the police for other duties, although some suspect it is also responsible for the explosion in Krispy Kreme outlets Laughing

In the rest of the country 20 mph zones are clearly signed, next year, here, it will be a blanket approach to residential areas which will not be signed as extensively, the Talivans will have a field day Rolling Eyes

England 2007 Freelander 2 TD4 GS Manual Tonga Green

A few years ago I was driving along a 30mph road behind another driver. The road had a lot of trees along it and the branches over hung the road making it slightly dim.

Half way along the road the driver infront suddenly swung to the other side of the road forcing a driver coming in the opposite direction to mount the kerb to avoid as collision - everyone stopped puzzled.

Luckily there were two police officers on hand to sort out the problem Thumbs Up

Found out from the driver in front of me that she served when one of the police officers jumped into the road infront of her pointing a speed gun at her (no hi viz vest).

She thought she was about to be shot, or something, paniced and just turned the wheel to avoid them. Confused 2002 Honda VFR800

Hi Taz,

The last time I drove through Blackburn I had something pointed at me by the Taliban, but I don't think it was a speed gun Whistle

That's only permanent camera's that need to be in full view. I got done with the cop sat in an unmarked car, side on, window up holding the gun through the window facing out of a garden centre.
