Mine is the same, it would be nice if when folded in at speed the water blew off, alas it does 't.
One nive feature of Mercs is the design of the mirror housing keeps the glass clear, the Freelander is simply rubbish at this, the heated function is no use either, as it doesn't get hot enough to clear water.

Might sound daft, but why would you want to fold your mirrors in while driving at speed? Confused
I occasionally fold mine in to avoid damage when passing other traffic at slow speed on narrow lanes or at passing places, but I like to see what's coming up behind me at all other times. Poke it, Poke it, make it do it again!!

RainX might not be good on FL2 windscreen but it does help on the side mirrors.
