Steering column locked message

Know it's probably been covered before, but info centre kept saying steering column locked whilst driving tonight. Minor glitch or potential prob? Does car need a software update? Cheers.

I had this message appear last year whilst towing my caravan on an auto-route in France.
I ended up with new dash & steering column , this just adds to the lists of bits replaced. was still under warranty as i gather it was a £1600 job !

There was no need for that... Just an update of the Instrument Cluster firmware...
Quote from Tech Bulletin no. 290:
The Central Junction Box (CJB) periodically checks the status of steering column lock by polling the instrument cluster. On occasions, the instrument cluster does not respond appropriately and this may lead to the erroneous message Steering Column Locked being displayed even though the steering column is unlocked and functioning normally.

Update didnt fix mine !
Mine ended up with 4 instrument packs and a column before it was fixed ! absolute junk. l/R or the dealer should be proud of themselves for such rubbish.

No just totally Pi Censored ed off with the biggest piece of junk money could buy. I paid so much for it Brand-new I want to see some use out of it. I should of stuck to Jaguars, never had any problems with them in quadruple the mileage. I also bought it specifically to tow a large caravan & if i sell the FR2 I will need to change the van again !
Ouch
