AHA!

Sorry but not only has the clutch and DMF gone but the gear lever came off in my hand and I have a puncture Rolling with laughter

To be fair we only have a dusting here in mid Derbyshire at the moment and very light snow. It is supposed to be heavy snow from 6pm until approx midnight before clearing for a frosty night. If it puts something more significant down than I shall try out the patented snow groove and let you know.

Just had a call out for tomorrow morning from Peak 4x4 who I joined in the summer. A nurse has got to visit 3 old biddies in the Ashbourne and Cromford areas. She lives on a road which is a bit out in the sticks so the snow groove should come in handy Laughing LL.B (Hons) - University of Derby

My generals A/T are terrible in the snow! I did not expect that! Slides all over the place, I did not have that much slide with wranglers

My Conti are not too bad, but could do with a little more tread Embarassed

I don't particularly like driving in snow, but it's handled well keeping at a steady speed and braking distance

Should have bought some winter tyres, as a little VW went past me in the uncleared outside lane just now and didnt look out of control, foreign plates (german iirc) so I assume it's gots it's winter tyres on Former Mod/Member, with the most post & Chicken George Arch nemesis

Just been out for a test run. The roads are covered but not deep enough to stop 2WD cars although their wheels were spinning when trying to pull out of junctions.

As for the Avons with the snow groove, the main test was braking. 30mph downhill on a bend I pressed the brakes hard and it pulled up in no time holding it's line perfectly. Not a hint of sliding. There was the mandatory judder from the pedal as the ABS tried to compensate but very impressive. LL.B (Hons) - University of Derby
