Excellent programme, that guy 'Richard' I believe, who went up around the top end of Scotland was really up above the clouds and he missed his marker by a few metres. I had to laugh with him climbing around with seat belt unbuckled to top up the fuel tank on the go Laughing
As for the other pair that returned to base because they got lost so soon after take off, classic.
They were all classed as micro lights but some were in the form of a 'proper' aeroplane, not sure what constitutes a 'micro light' Exclamation

Talk about build quality!! One machine had a bathroom pull switch under the wing. Another member of the failed FL2 clutch/DMF club, twice.

Obvious the internet would provide me with an answer Embarassed Thumbs Up

Quote:
A microlight aircraft is a category of aeroplane which by definition:

•Has a maximum take off weight not exceeding 450kg
•Has either; a wing loading not exceeding 25kg per sq M, or a stalling speed not more than 65Kph (41Mph).
•Can carry a maximum of 2 persons.

So as long as fixed wing comes into the above category then its advantage is comfort, weatherproof and quieter besides looking more conventional.
