Received Mantec parts today

I just received a front sump guard and rear access ladder from Mantec last Friday. It felt like Christmas! I'm also expecting a rear tank guard. Hopefully it'll arrive today.

I already installed the front sump guard and rear access ladder. I'll post photos when I get a chance. Installed a hitch, stock roof rack, mantec skid plates, General Grabbers AT2 255/60/R18, and a rear access ladder. Also made a hitch-mount for the winch. Looking to install a front hitch, rooft-top basket, and lift kit.

The rear tank guard fitting instructions say you have to drill the chassis to fit.
Try fitting without drilling - I drilled the holes and then found out the original mounting points were fine Evil or Very Mad Tangiers Orange - gone, missing her

@mole: yup, bought everything direct from mantec.

187GBP for the sump gard, 273.60 for the tank guard, and 99.66 for the rear ladder, plus about 200GBP for shipping to Califnoria... Shocked

Not cheap but I feel better with the parts installed. Especially the tank guard. I've already banged up the tank pretty badly. My gas gauge is now all wonky as a result. Installed a hitch, stock roof rack, mantec skid plates, General Grabbers AT2 255/60/R18, and a rear access ladder. Also made a hitch-mount for the winch. Looking to install a front hitch, rooft-top basket, and lift kit.

@Andy, thanks for the tips. I'll try without drilling. The sump guard fit like a charm. I did have to drill in the back for the rear access ladder though.... Installed a hitch, stock roof rack, mantec skid plates, General Grabbers AT2 255/60/R18, and a rear access ladder. Also made a hitch-mount for the winch. Looking to install a front hitch, rooft-top basket, and lift kit.

I had the opposite problem - holes and rivnuts in the back door and no ladder.
Presume it was once fitted then removed. Tangiers Orange - gone, missing her

Thanks for the feedback about the front bar. I have a little unit called an X-Bar which screws on behind the number plate. It is aluminium and allows for 2 driving lights and a uhf aerial. Attaching anything to the front of the car is difficult as there are no solid anchor points. Even the lights being put on the X-Bar have to be featherweights.

@mikehzz - yah, I'm thinking about creating a custom bull bar and drilling through the bumper to attach it to the frame. We'll see. Installed a hitch, stock roof rack, mantec skid plates, General Grabbers AT2 255/60/R18, and a rear access ladder. Also made a hitch-mount for the winch. Looking to install a front hitch, rooft-top basket, and lift kit.

It seems like a long way in to get something solid Smile And the bumper is very flimsy.
