Looks same as Fiesta Mk 6/7 - has anyone tried to swap ?

It certainly looks very similar indeed! I wonder if the connectors are the same too.

If it helps, this is what is on the sticker ....

I decided to take the plunge and risk £17.80 posted Mr. Green A Fiesta probably doesn't have the washer jet directly above the shaft, but as a worst case scenario, I can always use it as a donor to rebuild my seized unit Whistle

I will report back when I get it fitted

Update: I can now confirm that the Fiesta's wiper motor assembly is not quite the same as the FL2 - close, but no cigar Wink

However, the guts of said motor assemblies are largely interchangeable and after stripping both units down to their component parts, picking out the best ones (mostly the Fiesta's), then reassembling with liberal quantities of grease, I have now got a working wiper! Thumbs Up

Saved about £120 there - phew! Cheers,
Raz

RazMan,
Well done Sir, and useful to those on the forum who also have rear wiper failure.
Did you take any pics? Another member of the failed FL2 clutch/DMF club, twice.

Sadly, it was so dark in my garage that my camera did not want to play nicely. However it is fairly straight forward once you get started.

The component parts of both units are almost identical - the only real difference is a longer shaft in the FL2 unit The motor armature & brush assembly was the main culprit in my case - I think that when the gear mechanism seized in mid cycle due to the rust, it caused a constant 12V to be applied to the motor brushes, causing them to fail. Once the rust was cleaned away and everything was greased (I filled the chamber with the stuff to prevent water getting in again) the gears simply started working again. I then transferred the motor & brush assembly from the Fiesta unit, along with the central gear cog which was also corroded underneath where the electrical contacts are.

I popped the whole thing back together and Robert was indeed my mothers brother - The whole operation took me less than an hour Very Happy Cheers,
Raz
