Hi day 2 of my freelander 2 2009 xs.. oh my god i love it.. just wondering what lead do i need to conect my ipod up.. with my gti lead came in the arm rest,.. any help would be great.. also does the xs have bluetooth for my phone.. looking at manual but i'm male and it takes the fun out of it

I use a standard 3.4mm jack plug cable into the aux socket at the rear of the centre console.

Bluetooth is only available on vehicles fitted with the premium radio. Easiest way to tell is if you have a telephone symbol on the right hand side of the radio display and telephone controls (green and red) on the right hand side of the steering wheel then the chances are you have premium sound system.

You can browse the manual from your computer go to www.landrover.co.uk, under owners, click on Servicing and Maintenance then Handbooks and Owners and follow the link to the Owner Information Website and type in your vehicle details. or click the link below which takes you to the Topix Homepage.

hi yes it is the premium system.. does this mean I can play songs from my iphone with out having to conect?

That will depend on a number of factors and I'm by no means an expert having not tried connecting an IPhone to play music.

The first thing you'll need to check is whether your car bluetooth and IPhone are compatible, easiest way is to look at the Bluetooth section under Owners on www.landrover.co.uk. If you type in the last 6 charcters of your VIN it will tell you which IPhone software is compatible with your car. As you're new here I've added a link.

I have a feeling it won't play music through the Bluetooth connection but may be wrong.

Mrs AD connects her iPhone for music through the 3.5 jack in the centre console ok and hands free for the phone through Bluetooth, youu won't be able to change tracks with the steering wheel controls but the up and down for the volume will work ok. The LR iPod lead is way over priced for what it delivers

cheers guys, gone for the cheap and cheerful option the 3.5mm jack was only £2 off the auction site by the bay.. so bargain just trying to keep my eye out for some mats now

I have one of these. A "normal" jack to jack uses the headphone socket, and thus the headphone volume. The cable above uses the line out (full volume) from the bottom of your ipod.

Even if you turn the volume all the way up on the headphones, it will still not be "full volume".

Even better is the version of that cable with a USB connector on it, then use a Belkin MicroUSB charger so you have it charging at the same time

Will take pics how I've done mine. It plugs into the front aux then I run the cable through the centre console.

It's great cos it charges and I can go next track with ease! that with Siri to select albums it works a treat!
