I thought that at first but when you pause the video you can make out what looks like Goodyear but can't get a still shot to be certain.

They are most certainly Goodyears as if you pause the vid on full screen you can read the Goodyear logo.

Quick but by no means extensive search on web shows they could possibly be Goodyear Wrangler AT or Duratrac.

Bill - I've just looked and these are possible but I can't see the AT with that tread pattern in UK

I am getting frustrated with the options for 18" tyres for the Freelander Banging Head Banging Head

I appreciate that the vast majority of FL2 may never leave the black stuff - but some do

I guess I've no choice but to go for 16/ 17 wheels - I really like the look of these tyres - hence the questions

Anyone know who's vehicle it was ? Disco 3 HSE

Without looking at the video again "just about to have breakfast" I think they will be my Goodyear Wrangler AT/SA tyres (235-70-16) fitted to my spare 16inch Freelander 'S' rims and about to be fitted again for winter.
Superb tyres, very quiet and no hit on mpg. Just wish they would make them in the standard 18in fitting. Thumbs Up

Thanks for the replies guys -

At first I thought that they were the GY AT/SA - but there is a difference in the tread pattern which is why I ask the question

It may me newer styles etc -

here is a screen shot of the one from the clip

Looking on line here a pic - These looks like a tighter tread and a centre tread through

is there different versions ? Did you get these in the UK or import ?

Need to find some 16" wheels in good condition next -

When I bought them they came in two different types, those for an suv "as in the video" and those you have linked to at Camskill with the central ridge which were specified as LT "fit for light trucks". Somewhere in the specifications on Goodyear's U.S site they changed from the 4 block tread to 5 and included the 'LT' designation as the tyre size increased to accommodate the extra weight.
I asked my local tyre depot for a price match and specified the four block tread "without central ridge" and they came up with £125 a corner fitted and balanced back in 2010.

A bit more about the central ridge in this description.

Thumbs Up

Thanks for that. It will make for an interesting discussion with the local tyre supplier.

I see these are rated as a summer tyre based on the website. Any feedback from using in winter / snow conditions Disco 3 HSE

In the U.S the tyres are rated with the snowflake symbol, as far as I'm aware that symbol cannot be used in Europe, but these tyres are rated as M+S.
I put them on late in 2010, missed out on the majority of the bad snow, but in the thick sludge with the odd fresh topping that remained for the next few weeks, I couldn't fault them. Last winter didn't really see much snow around here, but they did cope very well with what we did get and when I've used them off-road, they have yet to put a foot wrong!

Another reason for not being able to find an exact match could be the new EU tyre rules on noise and wet grip performance.

Have a look at the the General Grabber AT which come in most Freelander sizes. I have had them fitted to my 07 SE (now gone) and transfered to my 09SE and they have done over 10k miles with no trouble and still 5mm tread left. Oviously a little noisier that standard but you cannot have it both ways.

As some of you know I am involved with a caravan rally at the Cheshire County Agricultural Show and this June the weather was c**p so I had to tow several outfits on and off a very muddy field including a tag axle motorvan NO PROBLEM.
I am also nivolved with forest car rally organisation and have not problem on Forest Commission tracks with vary in condition from motorway smoothness to 12" of mud.

Several others on here will confirm that are good tyres.

You will strugle to find AT2 in 255/60x18, the new AT is available.

First quarter of 2013 we will see the 235/60x18 General AT.

Quick Question.......how are you lads getting on with 255/60x18 tyres on your F2's Question Andy.

Think most are fitting the RRS size 255x55x18 which are not causing any rubbing problems.

Can you PM me a price on a set of four of these if you have stock Andy

Cheers
