Smooth wiper...

I've always thought the rear wiper on the FL2 let it down but found this quick mod

Old Wiper

No Wiper

New smooth wiper #1

New smooth wiper #2

Took me longer to add these photos than to swap over.

Quick result!!! Thumbs Up There's always a way forward!

Yup! I bought one of those. Makes the back end look much neater. ebay has/had a few. Think I paid about a tenner.

Looks good. Do Smooth wipers come in one size only? I am asking because I do not want to make a mess of it...

Got this one from 'Stormwipers' on Fleabay - they always seem to have a couple of entries on there - picked this one cos it was the cheaper of the two on offer - cost around £14 with P&P.

examples on :

I'm not recommdeing either - this is jyust an example of what was on there today.

Arrived within a couple of days, well packed and labelled. Only took 10 mins to fit including finding a suitable 13mm spanner!

Don't know if there are different sizes but this one fitted straight on.

Cheap 'upgrade'!! Thumbs Up There's always a way forward!

Forgot to mention that the one I got from Stormwipers has a brass? insert in the hole where the motor spindle goes through - not cheap plastic lugs.

Hope this will stop it from shearing off when I start the rear wiper up in freezing weather!! There's always a way forward!

What type of blade does the new wiper take, and where can you get them from ? Just thinking if the blade ever needs replacing its not standard land rover stuff. Thumbs Up

you jokers.

the sticker was the dog's idea - but it fits in well with the land ROVER!! Laughing

BTW - a turkey is for Christmas not for life!

As for replacing the blade one of the 'replace blade only' kits should do the job - the ones that are universal and you cut down to size. I'll let you know in about two years!

Maybe the smooth wiper will make it to the facelift????? There's always a way forward!
