2008 Freelander 2 TD4 HSE Auto Stornoway Grey

My final post on this thread .... Laughing

I will bet my next tank of deisel (about £76 Wink ) that someone from LR Marketing reads this Forum. I know that some other manufacturers read their brands forums out there.

When I had the Audi, the TT-Forum site owner - Jae, was invited by the Product Marketing Manager to Audi HQ in Milton Keynes, together with some other forum members. I was one of those who went. Our input about the TT was much appreciated by them. A great rapport was established and a contining communication was had between the Forum and Audi. So much so, that when the Mk2 TT was launched, certain members of the Forum (not me coz I had changed cars many times by then) were invited to preview the new TT BEFORE the UK Launch and others, like some of the press, had seen it. And, the Forum seniors knew much of the detailed info BEFORE release to the Press.

Wouldn't it be nice to think that LR reads this forum, takes notes of the features we would like to see, and adds them to the next FL release, inviting us to preview before the launch - and that we get to hear all the news about anything that is going on throughout the year before any one else.

So keep the list active and growing. Who knows who might be reading and taking notes.

Yes, let us hope LR do read the forum Thumbs Up However if they do it would be nice for them to appreciate what features LR owners/forum members would like to see on future models and not just what one forum member likes/dislikes Whistle

For example - the software I use at work, also has an international user group, and from time to time a long list of possible enhancements is suggested by the software manufacturer and users vote what they want and dont want and the most popular are incorporated in the next version Thumbs Up

Now if LR would do something similar (its called market research I belieive) for LR owners/forum members, maybe they would get a better idea of what the "majority" of us would like in the future.

Maybe we could even make our own list and vote on it - no ofence to ttc546, but a majority opinion hits harder than just one members Wink

but i think one member has to raise the issue he/she would like to be sorted on th next production of the FL2

The only way this can be done is listing down likes and dislikes like what has been done

I notice from the other thread that they are now looking at the clear side repeaters instead of the orange one, i beleive this would have been due to lots of peolple changing these straight away and posting about it.

LR do look at the forum as they have previously asked for comments and feedback on the Traction Control Thumbs Up

Fair enough I see it was just a list of wants and ideas! Just it was a bit long so I thought it was a lot of moaning n groaning at first read

Interesting to see that TT forum contributed to the new TT. Something like that must have happened at L/R because F/L1 is a totally different beast to F/L2 and like TT not all change suits old model owners, new model TT styling fails miserably to live up to the tautness and vibrancy of the original. Just like me its out grown its old jeans.

First two things that came to my mind were an armrest and tyre pressure monitor. The armrest I'll order soon as they deliver to Romania. as for the tyre pressure monitor I had one in my previous car and proved usefull. Now it ocurred to me that it might not be possible to fit one as it will flash the "puncured tyre" and "stop" signs as soon as one would deflate the tyres for off-roading.
Has anyoane driven or heard of off-road vehicles that have such a tyre pressure monitor fitted?

I think the D3 & RRS have this as an option

I assume they can switch it off or it is a more intelligent type of monitoring

Aren't armrests already available on the HSE?

I think the tyre pressure monitor compares the rolling circumference of each wheel against the others'so if they are the same pressure then they all have the same circumference and the system will be happy, so resetting the system once pressures are altered should do the trick Exclamation

I find the HSE arm rests just get in the way of putting on the seat beat, or a PITA folding them down each time you get in after putting on the seat belt

On our test drive Mrs G took an instant dislike to the HSE armrests. They fold up yes but they don't fold out of the way.
