Thanks for your answer. So I will order a new latch. Hope I will get it replaced by myself, because the cable/latch connection seems to be a little bit fiddly  . |

the same happened to me.
I improvised.
Using standard electrical wire ( lighting / ring main 2.5mm works best )
I cut a length approx 8" long with a bend / loop at one.
