Recently did my front shocks. Apart from the shocks all I needed to do were the front coil spring mount pads. About 4 quid each from Duckworths IIRC. I think they're in my gallery pics.

| The solenoid kit is only about £17 on Ebay so a cheap enough part to replace but as previously stated a faulty starter and faulty glow plugs are 2 very different issues. I think you are getting them ... |

I would get the battery checked first, if it’s not brilliant the cold weather could just be enough to tip it over the edge, then be ok when weather warms up

That's not glow plugs - as above I'd start with the starter wiring, battery earthing, solenoid and starter motor.
With failed glow plugs the engine would crank normally but be reluctant to start.
