So, the boot won't unlock and nor will the fuel filler flap.
I thought it was the boot lock mechanism, so changed that, but it didn't help.
Then I found fuse 25 had blown, so thought it must be ... |

By hard reset, do you mean unplug the battery etc? Have to admit I haven't tried that.
I was expecting something to open the boot - either the key, or the dashboard etc - but at the moment nothing ... |

I can't open the boot. I've tried the boot handle, the key, various button combinations etc - nothing seems to want to release it.

| If the original diagnosis is correct and it is alternator related - how do you check if it is the whole alternator or just the clutch which needs to be replaced - or will it be obvious? |

| Would the pulley on the it normally be going round, whether or not the AC is on? Or can it somehow disengage - hence the lack of motion!? |
