This sounds exactly the same as my problem and the dealer replaced the power steering resivoir. Took an hour and they said it was not the first by a long way. Not had the symtoms again since.

stratstone cupars workmanship is very good ,not sure about the price of a service as i have a service plan, my car goes in next week for its second service. I had a knocking problem with the car and they were able to fix it without any problems, they didn't make you feel stupid if the car didn't replicate the fault on test drives. Also i noticed that with me being loyal to them they reward me with discounts on accessories etc. Also there tyres are cheaper than kwick fit,...

Driving home today from town and from no where came a loud whirring sound in step with the engine revs.
Never heard this before and sounds really bad.
At tick over theres nothing,just sounds as normal but soon as you excelerate and the revs increase theres this horible whirring sound,its the same if you rev the engine at a stand still,sounds like its coming from the drivers side in the engine bay.
Has any one else had this and what was the out come. ...

Other side if the road and it was caught when turning round

never noticed how high it was until the crunch, all the others are 1/3 of the height

it's lacquered up so I'm leaving it, if they get scuffed then I'll have them all done at once

Sounds like time to park it outside the dealers with a big sign in the window. Notify them that you are going to do it and see what their response is. Alternatively visit the dealers show room and kick up a stink (at top volume) until you get what you want.

Time for you to be unreasonable I think!!!! They can hardly complain.

Thanks for the prompt responses. That looks the same as the diagram sketch on the Brinks download. I certainly don't have one of them nor a bag to put the towbar in. Phone call to the dealer on Monday I think.

I have been at the helm of my lighweight for thirteen years now and will never part with her ,many other cars have come and gone but I have stuck with this old nail .I guess landies just get under your skin.........

By the way my lightweight has achieved a terminal velocity of eighty MPH although I needed all three lanes of the A316!

put a coat of lacquer on from a touch up pen I have whilst I decide on what to do

think leave alone, or get a set of them plastic guards posted above, as it might cover the scratch up and the protect them

You get a choice of two but for the full monty with Land Rover assist its now �655.
Sounds a lot but by the time you factor in 12 months European recovery AND the Warranty.....I dont think its too bad.

By the time that you take the recovery aspect out of the equation, its �500 for the Warranty.

As much as we love the car........thats only one decent claim!

For info, I tried 35 dealers and they all quoted the same.

Hi Artel,Yes you should have one supplied with your tow Bar.
Its a Strange looking Black piece of plastic which push fits into the hole once you have removed the towball.
I would get back to them and tell them its missing and that you would like them to order you one free of charge.
I take it you do have the little blue bag to put the towball in when not in use? ...

I had them fit a detachable towbar which has been undetached till yesterday when I decided I better have a look and see how it works. Ours had a litre in in the first 5000 miles, apparently LR say anything up to 1 litre per 3000 miles is nothing excessive and within tolerances, and that's for the life of the car, not just running in, so I was told.

it will hold its value though, probably appreiciate, due to it being a rare model , its actually a ford jeep built under licence during the war. He also has a un-restored 'slatt grill' model which could make 25k when finished .

Dont ask me what's so special about it ,I just nod and agree whenever he tries to explain the subtle differences ...
