P006A code, and rubber bung has appeared like magic

Hi all Smile,

So I was driving to work and suddenly I am put into R.E.P. When I then get back into the car to go home, error is gone, until I go above 2000 revs, then back into REP.

Arriving at home, a mysterious rubber bung has appeared just below the coolant reservoir, see below.. I plug in a OBD reader and I get the error code:

P006A - MAP - Mass or Volume Air Flow Correlation

So I'm assuming the bung has popped off a tube somewhere..
Any one have any ideas where this little chap should live Very Happy?

Hi both,

You were right, I had spent the whole time looking down into the engine I didn't think to look up. I've reattached it so it looks like it must be either a MAF replacement, or a split tube - just hoping I can get into a garage before bank holiday!

Always worth giving a MAF sensor a blow through with electrical contact cleaner before going to the expense of replacing it - the aerosol cleaner blasts away any residue on the wire and then evaporates leaving it clean - DO NOT under any circumstances probe or scrape the sensor wire it is very fragile and will cost you a lot too replace No Longer the owner of a 2013MY Fuji White GS

Thanks for your reply westville, I'll give that a go at lunch and see how it goes. I've managed to get a local garage to have a look at the code tomorrow, but he does want to get off for the bank holiday - just want to know if it's safe to drive etc.

Feck me, 20,000 revs? It's a wonder you've got any pistons left in the engine...... Whistle Past: FL2 TD4 HSE Auto
