Local help to diagnose transmission noise?

Hi, I have a 2008 TD4 GS that has developed a noise. It's only done 75,000 miles.

It's a mooooo that starts at around 40mph - any gear - and increases slightly in frequency and volume as we accelerate.

My local MoT station kindly took it for a run and put it on the ramps; they said there's no play in any of the wheel bearings and they suspect the rear diff bearing, but before I go ahead with the repair (we need to sell soon) I'd like to get a second opinion from a knowledgeable person.

I live in Tetbury in Gloucestershire; is there any member nearby who would be willing to have a listen? Or, alternatively, is there a trustworthy LR specialist nearby? (nearby is a relative term, I can travel).

I had a look at the diff oil last week; it was full, and crystal clear.

Many thanks, Andy

It could just as equally be the front PTU. Get yourself up to Bewdley and get it diagnosed right first time.
