Handbrake cable snapped!

I’ve had a good day today, my handbrake cable snapped!

There doesn’t seem a lot of information out there on a DIY, surely I can’t be the only person to snap a handbrake cable. Has anyone fixed it themselves and can offer a guide or tips?

I’d be very grateful

I fitted one last year. I can't remember exactly how I did it but it was pretty straight forward. I had to set aside plenty of time though because the springs etc take a bit of getting in. The key is tondo one side at a time so you can see where everything goes.

Thank you, figured it was going to be a tedious job. I just need to get the handbrake off as I need to get the car home to do the job. Fun times! I was only saying yesterday how reliable the car has been for me 😂
