WNRO - GPS Week Number Rollover - are we affected

I did not find any topics here about the upcoming GPS Week Number Rollover happening on April 6th.

Do you think that our old systems are prepared for this WNRO and will still display correct time and date after April 6th? As LR does not supply and official updates anymore I'm curios what will happen to my factory fitted navigation system.

Any thoughts?

There has been a long write up about this on the TomTom forum as well.

I would guess that anyone who is pre-face lift with the DVD based system might run into problems if they have not updated their discs for a while - LR have not sanctioned a release since 2014 but discs are available because the Subaru Core 2 system and the Volvo systems use the same data discs - in fact if you have brought a set of LR discs since 2014 they will actually be Subaru discs (but they work).

I saw that there are a few companies selling 2019/20 discs (based on the Subaru system no doubt) so DVD system may need this as a fix - there was not a release last year so this may include a fix for the roll over as well as updated maps.

I would imagine that any post face lift with the Gen 2.1 system will be okay as the software will have been fixed for this.

But then we may find out after April 6th one way or the other. MY13 HSE Lux Santorini Black

Good news, my factory fitted sat nav is still working as it should. No issues detected after the WNRO.

I'm with the ambulance service and we'd brought in extra technical bods just in case it all went Y2K. Fortunately it didn't

Given the design limitation is documented in the app notes I've read for GPS, I suspect it will be another y2k non event, ie nothing will happen for 99.9% as it's already been designed out.

That said, I got paid a lot of money in the year 2000 thanks to y2k paranoia Rolling with laughter
