Sacre bleu

Was away in France for a weeks holiday and an official looking letter arrived today from Republique Francaise. C'est a violation notice Laughing Seems I was clocked at 92km/h on a 80km stretch between Limoges and Poitiers Censored
Oh well, first ever ticket for anything in over 40 years of driving.
Fixed fine 45€, so cheap I suppose although it escalates to 68€ then 180€ for delay and/or appeal following which they invite you to visit Madame Guillotine
If post-Brexit (whenever that is) we're not going to be allowed off the island, I suppose there'd be no harm in not paying it Wink After all Le "Can't pay, we'll take it away" won't be allowed in here to seize goods Rolling with laughter

so the French system chases up UK drivers who have infringed on their driving laws

how often (if at all) does the UK system chase up European drivers ?

I know for a fact that many Polish/Latvian/Lithuanian/Romanian/etc etc etc cars round my area are not insured, tested or registered anywhere. They are clocked coming into the country and have 6 months in which to get the cars legal for UK roads, but at 5 months 29 days they go back to the continent and return 2 weeks later which resets the clock.

RogB, I agree with your sentiment but there's a likelihood we'll be going across later in the year and you never know if an unpaid ticket will somehow be picked up when we're there. Easiest to pay up and not take that chance.
