MundAl Track run

I have just done most of the MundAl Track, a mainly dirt track from Mundaring in the Perth hills to Albany on the South coast of Western Australia.
In all I did about 850 kM on the dirt with the tyres at 27psi. Fuel consumption in the TD4 was 7.8 L/100kM. (Don't know what that is in mpg for the metric-phobic Luddites)
The track is a bit of a mixed bag with some washouts to contend with and some very tight sections that scratched both sides at once, however much of it is fast red gravel. I'm still working on getting the dust off, I reckon it's worse than the dust in the Pilbara!
I would recommend the trip and would even do it again myself.

United Kingdom 2013 Freelander 2 SD4 HSE Lux Auto Baltic Blue

Fantastic pictures, thanks for sharing.

It proves just how well sealed the vehicle actually is when it's driven through red dust, as can be demonstrated in your second picture.

Also goes to show just how capable it is in challenging conditions. Where next?

The double seals kept all of the dust out of the car, it's very impressive for that. The dust however seems to have a glue component. a hose down didn't budge it, neither did a high pressure cleaner. Then off to a commercial car wash that got much of the dust off except the inside of the doors up to the seals and in all the panel gaps, Manual labour for that.
Next trip will be the goldfields of WA. There are some sections south of Coolgardie I would love to do.

7.8 Liters per 100 km = 36.22 British MPG

Thought off-roading wasn't allowed in Scotland except on private land? Common sense isn't very common.
