Canada holidays

Having done several destinations in the USA, I’ve been meaning to get around to Canada. The relatively new girlfriend has expressed an interest in going there too.

This would not be until early next year due to saving up etc but any recommendations for a package deal? Guided coach tour would be better than a fly drive for us. Thinking eastern side cities but could be persuaded to think about the Rockies for example.

Buy return tickets to Calgary on BA, hire a car and set off to Jasper etc. No need to be packaged by anyone these days. Apart from the first night stop go and stop where your hat lands you.

This is my wife’s dream this year and we have the air tickets but everything is now on hold due to me just starting treatment and we may not know if I can be signed off by a consultant to go for several weeks yet. Had my first infusion just today. FL2 MY10 TD4 GS traded in at 2 years

Vancouver BC is an ideal spot to see Canada. It is set amongst the Rockies in a beautiful sea surrounded location.

During the colder months you can go sailing in the day, and skiing the same evening. Miles and miles of coastline, with a background of mountains.

I find the Canadians extremely polite and friendly.

We did Toronto to Vancouver by train. Great experience.

First half on the Canadian and the on the Rocky Mountaineer.

Lots of great stops. Winnepeg, Jasper, Lake Louise, Banff, Kamloops etc. Other excursions along the way. Niagara, Ice Fields - some wonderful sights to see.

Well worth it!

I’ve been going back forth to Canada since 67 mainly in the Toronto area. Toronto used to be great but it’s just massive city with sky scrapers. 3 years ago my wife and I spent a week in Ottawa and a week in Montreal. Ottawa is what toronto was 30yrs ago , beautifully clean with lots of open spaces for cycling, roller blading or any sports activity. Montreal was an eye opener, another beautifully clean place with enough sightseeing for a week . The old town is very touristy but with a bit of class .
If I go back to Canada to visit relatives I won’t be going to Toronto. Do it now ! Your a long time dead !!

Went to western side of Canada back in 1994 for a road trip and it’s still one of the best places we’ve been.

Just booked a hotel as we went along.

Times might have changed now but we found it much cheaper to fly to Seattle and hire a car than it was to fly to Vancouver and hire a car from there.
