Yes, wasn't she a mechanic during the war? Although I believe that she doesn't need a licence or a passport as they are issued in her name. Also I wonder if he was insured? 3 x FL1 2 manual + 1 auto

Just watching this as the main news at 10 Rolling Eyes

What I can’t understand is at any accident, why they can’t pick up all the pieces of the wrecked cars, a shovel and spade should surface, but no, they leave a load of glass, wingmirrors bumpers etc to lay there for years to come Former Mod/Member, with the most post & Chicken George Arch nemesis

TV news media are all leading on this. Just as well it happened on a quiet news day when there are no other major issues e.g. in parliament to report ... oh, wait a minute ...

Noone needs to be insured. Everyone can spread it - Anyone can catch it. Stay home - the life you save can be your own!

Police will clear any hazards off the carriageway, most traffic patrol vehicles will carry a brush for this purpose, an ordinary police response vehicle does not carry one. It is for road service / council to maintain and clean the road surface.

Still seems to be confusion on the news this morning that it was a a Range/Land Rover. Almost an assumption that Royals would only be in a Range Rover, I wonder if the JLR brand department note this. 3 x FL1 2 manual + 1 auto

If you put OXR1 into the MOT website it comes up as a green 14 reg LandRover FL2 with 26k miles at last MOT. 3 x FL1 2 manual + 1 auto
5 x FL2 4 manual + 1 auto

That's not the one that he pranged. OXR 1 is the Balmoral/Windsor vehicle. The Reg for that one that rolled yesterday was OE63 OGX, and was indeed a MY14 HSE in Aintree Green, registered January 2014.

The reason that it has an Revenue Weight of 2505kg is to take into account all the bullet-proof glass and armour in the door cards, floor pan etc. etc...

ive only ever seen pics of him driving a green HSE and that one is definitely green in the crash pics.

Like has been said, the FL2 appears to have protected him well.

Happy that there were no serious injuries (however lets wait for the whiplash and PTSD claims to be sent to Buck House Whistle )

in answer to previous questions - the Queen does not require a license due to her title, however she did indeed serve as a mechanic/driver in the later years of WWII and passed her test then as she wasn't on the exemption list. Phil the Greek would have a license and be subject to the standard health rules allowing him to drive. He cant exactly get away with hiding an illness as the media are all over his hospital visits.
Insurance wise they will come under a crown policy rather than a specific to vehicle policy

The crashed Freelander had only done 3,100 miles at it last mot in April 2018. Shame that it`s now a right off with such a low mileage! Big Cry
