How about keeping the light clean?
would you be able to access it to remove the accumulation of grime and fly splats.

Interesting points T4. Keep me posted. The intention was aux lighting.

The second grill is 2 inches lower than a Reg plate mount.

@Dave, great point. Impossible to clean.

Hi I opted to mount mine externally in the and also in front of the upper grill as the distance and shadowing wasn't great in the lower grill. Mine is useful but I wish I have looked at fitting to the top rail with some bracing behind as it would allow a slightly larger unit.

Interested to see which way you go.

If your going through hell, keep going!

Wrapper of rear pillars 😀

This is how I fitted my front and rear 'broken sun' lamps.

hello.
Here mine with led bar on bullbar, I also want to integrate behind the grille, but this raises the question of cooling.

I just installed 2 light bars into the lower grill. Easy to do. Only pain in the backside was to decide how to run the wires. The light bars sit low but i have pointed them upwards a bit so they light up well. With being about 2700lm, it definitely beats just turning the fog lights on.

Yes the intercooler still works. I will try and get a picture to show the placement of the light units. Theres not much of the intercooler blocked so the air can still flow to cool it

I would also be concerned at the reduction in air fow but also don't anticipate the light would be very effective. It would be so low as to cause shadows from almost any low obstruction. You may as well switch on your front fog lights.

You can get a multi beam conversion for the fog lights so you could switch them to work with high beam as well as be fog lights perhaps?

Any link to that conversion by any chance? Thanks in advance.

Ah ok, fog / DRL units.

It's struck me for some time now that with led and reflector technology progressing as they have a conversion to spot / driving lamps for the front fog units would be worthwhile. Obviously have to arrange them to extinguish with the dip switch, but anything better than the official bug eye driving lamp carbuncles.

I have those on my front bumper.

The 'yellow' looking rings, on the fog and driving lamps, are an extra I added, which are my DRL's.

Have you bought the yellow ring LEDs ..... AND the plastic diffusers ?

I didn't by mine as a kit, but as component parts.

Good Luck.
