Maltings Doncaster V Armstrong Massey Pricing.

I am going to renew the front suspension (back done by me a few months ago) as parts today on ebay are reasonably priced for struts and complete lower wishbone arms.

Thinking the Leeds indies would be expensive to do this work (I now am stuffed with my health) I went rural so I called Armstrong Massey in Driffield and Maltings just outside Doncaster.

Armstong Massey quoted me double the Maltings price for the same work and Maltings say they include tracking. So on that basis I will drop over there one day in the next few weeks unless someone on here has a reason why not.

Have a look at Maltings Web Pages as the prices for every day servicing seem very competitive. FL2 MY10 TD4 GS traded in at 2 years

No, its not one for you to go worrying about Jules. Rather than add bling wheels etc I maybe wasting my money in upgrading the ride back towards that brand new feeling. It would be rare to need struts and wishbone arms together but the wishbone has to be disconnected from the strut if that is to be changed and then to wizz off the wishbone with a air gun is just a few minutes extra work really (thats my perception). Could put springs on as well but that will be a decision on the fitting day once inspected. Probably that I just saw the OEM struts as such a knock down price was really the catalyst.

Once I have done my upgrading I hope to be able to say to my wife the car is good for many years to come even though I may not be. Neutral FL2 MY10 TD4 GS traded in at 2 years

JAS in Pocklington is getting some good reviews over on Disco3/4

I used Quattro [LR specialist] in Riccal last time for my service [instead of Ripon Land Rover] but might try Joe next. FL2 now gone and have a couple of items left for sale:-

Brodit active iPhone holder + Brodit dash clip,
Bluetooth Music Streaming Module.

Good to know that Ron.

Quarto at Riccal quoted me a daft price for my rear struts doing a few months ago and told me it such a mamouth job etc. I did it myself in the end with no issues very cheaply !

Was thinking of going to Maltings but our local garage have just given me a very sensible quote so I will save my brass on that journey this time. Local garage is about to close as the owner died a couple of years ago and its now down to the last mechanic MOT tester. Its heard its going to be turned into a old folks place so I may still remain a customer yet. Sad FL2 MY10 TD4 GS traded in at 2 years
