UFO Sighting

🛸

https://www.google.co.uk/amp/s/www.bbc.co....e-46181662

This is a decent story but the problem with mentioning UFO’s is that people automatically think aliens 👽. In fact, it is simply a flying object that one cannot identify.

The most stunning UFO I ever saw (no, not after several pints), was in broad daylight across the fields at the back of our house. I must have been about 10 years old when I looked across the fields from the bedroom window and saw a fairly large silver sphere surrounded by a ring (a bit like the rings of Saturn). It flew at a low altitude of around 50 feet and made a faint humming noise. The crows in the field scattered as it flew over and off into the distance.

Now I’m not claiming it was the Daleks, it was clearly Cybermen Laughing No, as far as I’m concerned it has a rational explanation. Such as an experimental military aircraft or perhaps drone.

That being said, given the mind blowing size of the universe, to suggest we are alone is buffoonery of the highest order. LL.B (Hons) - University of Derby

A few years ago me and a mate were rat shooting in the dark when we saw a strange blue glow moving about in the clouds. It took several days to work out it was the light's from Macarthur Glen, we were about 5 miles away as the crow flies

But the time span of the universe is so great that the chances of there being another life form as dumb as us existing at precisely the same time is probably about zero.

Together with their runaway climate change (2-4°C increase from world average 14.6°C) & dangerous politicians they probably came to an untimely end! Procrastination, mankind's greatest labour saving device!

Unlikely to be advanced life out there because they will have either blown themselves to bits or died choking to death with pollution before they discovered the higher maths necessary for long distance space travel.

Obviously not extra terrestrial , but earlier this year I had a “ what the bloody hell “ moment whilst fly fishing . I was on the river Wharfe below Barden Bridge , near Bolton Abbey . I’m used to seeing the occasional military aircraft up there. I was just leaving the river to go back to my car for lunch , I was the only one in the enitire field as I’ve got a “ Members Key “ for that section and it’s closed to the public except summer weekends . As I came over the bank , flying slow and low about 70 or 80 metres away was the most amazing aircraft I’ve seen , propellers like a wind turbine . There isn’t a mobile signal on that section , otherwise I would have been straight onto Google Rolling with laughter

I couldn’t see any markings on this thing but it was military drab coloured , as soon as I got home , I did my research , it turned out to be a V22 Osprey . I’d never heard of one and couldn’t find out if the U.K. officially operate any , but I’d take one over a spaceship any day Thumbs Up 2009 GS Auto Zermatt Silver - Sold June 21 after 10 years of ownership

Similarly, a number of years ago I was intrigued by a very small plane doing low passes along the beach front as it did circuits and bumps at RAF Kinloss (as it was then). Funny wings, push prop and almost completely silent - I thought it must have been one of the RAF guys with his own kit plane. Only much later that I saw pics of a Reaper/Predator! 2005 D3 2.7 Auto

The V22 Osprey must be the most expensive aircraft ever built and the longest gestation period ever, it was conceived in prototype form before the Harrier/Kestrel about the same time of the Flying Bedstead. Finally reached operational status about the time we were phasing out the Harrier, full marks to the USA, they persevered when many would have wrapped their hands in the question is was it worth it, it is 100knts faster than a Chinook with less range and payload and much less versatile and does not appear to have a civilian version or role my PC is slightly to the right of Genghis

The Astronomer Royal, Martin Rees, has written a book entitled "Our Final Century" he proposes that up to now it has been difficult for an individual to do catastrophic damage to the planet even with nuclear weapons but the means of our self destruction are getting easier for individuals to aquire. As an example you can imagine someone in the not too distant future using gene editing and creating a new strain of smallpox that rips through the human population. Basically if we can get through the next hundred years we will be OK but the chances are that most advanced civilizations destroy themselves and that's even without Brexit. late 90's towards the end of army career, when on exercise in Germany we had access to a set of Pilots Night vision goggles. about the size of a small pocket set of binoculars.

it was a fairly clear night sky so we used the NVG to look up and were almost blinded!!

thousands of extra stars/moons/planets/whatever you want to call them were now visible, it was incredible Shocked

but what was most incredible was the number of moving objects up there, as I recall (ive had a few beers since then) there were hundreds of satellites and all manner of stuff moving about.

the skys are a very busy place

Outback Australia night sky you only need to look up & there is more of everything than you can poke a stick at. Satellites going in different directions.

Southern Cross with all the stars you don't see in the city:

This photo is with a tiny Canon G9X, 4 photo stacked to reduce noise. I have 10 photos but it is a quiet sensor so wasn't worth the effort stacking more than 4. Procrastination, mankind's greatest labour saving device!

guaranteed you would see even more with a decent set of NVG.

forgot to mention in previous thread that we already had a 'Gen 1' set of NVG but the Helipcopter pilots set were 'Gen 3' and were leagues ahead of our set. Ours were good, theirs were amazing.

I'm lucky (or otherwise depending on your point of view) in that where I live I regularly see US and RAF military aircraft flying east - west and west east from an almost perfect viewpoint from my back garden. V22 sightings are a regular as are Chinooks, B52s and varioius other assorted aircraft. When Pres Trump was over here a few weeks ago his Jumbo flying low enough and slow enough to see clearly the light blue paint job along with two fighter escorts flew over. I did wave by he didn't wave back!!!
