New Zealand 2007 Freelander 2 i6 HSE Auto Firenze Red
Rear door locks

Hi All. Have collected the 2007 3.2 Jap import from Auckland, fantastic drive home with no problems.
So am unable to open the rear doors from inside, have looked at the other posts but don't see any solutions. Have no user manual and seem unable to download the whole thing only the quick guide.
The handles on the inside seem to be disconnected so am thinking of removing the door cards to have a look, has anyone got pictures of what the mechanism should look like ?
Where is the best place for down loading the manual?
Many thanks.

Ha Ha, thats the first thing I checked.
I assume there isn't a dealer option to have the doors work this way?

Have you tried manually unlocking from the inside, ie pull the lock latch before trying the handle?

Sometimes the plastic handle can be a bit sticky & this is what happens. I lube mine every so often with silicon spray & that seems to sort them, until the next time!

The locking button above the handle seems to be disconnected as it does nothing. Any combination of using them does nothing, is there a connection to the cable that is prone to breaking? Seems a bit odd that both sides are the same.

Can you hear/feel the lock actuators work when you use the fob to lock/unlock the car?

It sounds as if both sides are physically disconnected or the cables are not attached/ broken, for whatever reason. (Now Sold). 2008 Freelander 2 (Nazca Sand) SE TD4 Auto. Statutory write off & on WOVR for hail damage but still road legal.

Pity it wasn’t just child locks,I agree with post above it sounds like it isn’t connected anymore the door cards are pretty easy to get off and have a look what’s going on.

Have you tried pressing the unlock button on the dash board? Rear doors should be able to be unlocked after the front doors have been opened.

Cool I have an update. Apparently the dealer had both door cards off to fix a faulty window regulator so am guessing the cables were not re-attached. Will have a look on Saturday.
