In my case the replacement 2nd hand module was just to get the Bluetooth function to work again. We use the aux socket to stream music from the kids iPhones/ipad

All,

Just a note to say I followed the instructions on the thread and all worked a treat.

One correction I have is that the bolts on captive nuts were 8mm rather than 10mm but other than that spot on. This is really a very easy fix for a very annoying problem so thanks to all!

Real glad I found this thread, very informative, clear and makes it look as easy as it is. Thumbs Up

Replaced my old faulty 2006 dated bluetooth module with a 20110614 one I found on the bay. Wokrked straight away, just had to re pair the phone, now my address book syncs too, never worked on my old one.

Only tip I might add, the upper connector on my module had black sticky tape over the grey tab that needed pressed down to release.

My car is a 2007 HSE

Ga2smiff - I too took the boot apart on my 2013 Freelander 2 to find no device there - have you been able to find the location of the Bluetooth module on the later models ? Thanks

Does anyone know if the firmware on these Bluetooth units can be upgraded so you can stream music or would it be a replacement?

Super post! Your photos help me with a different project and are thus very helpful. Like your car's colour scheme - same as mine.

Not on my 2013 facelift SD4 GS with standard audio. Bluetooth stopped working, dealer says need to replace module and I want to do it myself - but can't find it anywhere! Not in either rear wing nor behind glovebox. Any ideas welcome. Thanks

Stuartc - So there is no separate Bluetooyh module in MY 13? Could you tell me where the IAM module is located? Thanks

I think the IAM is the main display head unit or behind it. Could be very expensive?
