Bluetooth connection, Pairing.

Evening people.
I have tried to connect my Iphone an endless amounts of times to my 2007 SE, first it would not find my phone, then for no apparent reason it finds the phone instantly now, but now it flatly refuses to connect (pair) to it.
It finds the phones in range, i scroll to my phone and the second i press enter to select my phone, it tells me pairing has failed, it offers the chance to try again but instantly claims pairing failed every time.
I have the phone in the right mode, tried the turn it off and on thing, disconnected the car battery hoping it would reset the stereo.
It reset the windows but not the bluetooth, It will connect to other phones ok and my Iphone connects to other bluetooth items no problem, but the two don't seem to like each other.
Has anyone else had this or got any ideas how to connect the two together, ive followed the hand book to the letter.

Sorted
Turns out there is 2 ways to pair the phone, ignore the add a phone and delete a phone options and go to the Bluetooth option,
that gives you another add a phone menu.

My phone (android) paired first time
but my phonebook refuses to load. Everytime
I get in the car I get a message on my phone saying
landrovetr wants to access my contacts so I press ok
Then if I try to access the phonebook it comes up phonebook is
loading, please wait. Half hour later the phonebook is still loading.
After a time I give up. Surely it shouldn't take that long to load.

Seem to recollect connecting my iPhone 6 was a pita as far as the contacts were concerned. If I remember correctly, nothing seemed to have uploaded initially but then when I got into the car the next day, all my contacts were there.

My contacts wouldn't load properly when I first got mine due to the software in the bluetooth module so I purchased a later module from a Jag XF which solved the problem for £60. Try searching for AX23-10F845-AA on ebay - it's quite straightforward to swap over but your phone may see the car as a Jaguar instead of a Land Rover!
