Dorset im with you 100% on this.... this is now the snowflake millennials reaching positions of influence and imposing their ridiculous softa**e ideas on the rest of us.

when is someone with an ounce of common sense going to stand up and tell them to crawl back into their cotton wool comfort blanket.... (btw I take this approach at work but unfortunately some people do take offence to my sometimes abrupt responses, which is why ill never amount to anything Laughing )

Couldn't agree more.

There's so much more to this sort of thing than meets the eye!

I read an article last week where police have been banned from putting poppies on the front of there cars in car...... "it offends other charities"!

What's that all about then?

A slight digression: Brighton council recently wasted £40m + of council taxpayers money by lending it for the 'I360 viewing tower' (commercial lenders would not touch it), the operators now plan to default on loan repayments.

Same council also lost £3.2m when they failed to notice their outsourced cash collectors were not banking the takings from parking meters, until they went bust after transferring funds out of the country.

However the same council have been rather busy designing 'my pronoun' gender staff ID badges:

World's gone completely Censored bonkers. Wtf am I now allowed to shout at other male motorists at moments of road rage? Are kno***ad, p***k, still allowed or do I have to use 'part' so as not to be too gender specific?
Longdave, do the council question which badge is chosen? Is your blatantly heterosexual male allowed to choose the she/her/hers badge.
Utter madness

Sid
I understand that each staff member can nominate their preferred pronoun, gender related or not. Councillor Emma Daniel (chair of the neighbourhoods, inclusion, communities and equality committee,) says:

"Who a person is may not match what you expect and may not be defined easily. If someone's pronouns differ from what you assume, it's for you to adapt and it's OK to ask".

She seems to be saying that this applies to any resident of Brighton, however she fails to caution that you may get a bloody nose for your trouble!

Ahh next year I am 60 and the brakes are coming off Very Happy

no more even slightly politically correct, taking a leaf out of the mother-in-laws book (she is in her 70s), and takes no prisoners, the more she shocks the harder she tries, most of the time though she doesn't even know she has been "subversive/offensive"

For example (and I am still trying not to offend for 12 months) she loudly bemoans the loss of the character on Robinsons jam in the local ASDA, because it was like that when she was a child and "nobody minded". Tangiers Orange - gone, missing her
Replaced by Ewok what a mistake - now a happy Disco Sport owner
