so they have taken a 2016 Defender 110 PU and replaced the cab roof with an Exmoor trim tilt and soft top.... oh and dropped a V8 auto into it. Dread to think how much that will have cost !!

you can buy an ex MOD Wolf 110 (that comes with HD chassis and other bits) and turn that into a V8 soft top for 1/8th of the cost of the works one

there a definitely people with way more money than sense out there if they are willing to pay that.

DIY conversion from chassis up with a similar spec could be done for around 20-25k.
Replacement galvanised chassis for a 90 can be done for 4k at my local LR specialist then its just choice of spec which will determine the overall cost.

I agree. I recently saw a couple in a tricked up Defender.... not a spec of dust on it. They looked like the types that have to have the latest craze.  MY13 Santorini Black SD4 HSE

even If I did have the cash and wanted a defender (I would love a defender tbh) I would rather spend £1000's specifying my own build rather than getting one from them.

just personal tastes I suppose but I wouldn't begrudge anyone buying one, just don't see the point personally.

will it take another £150K to ...........get it out of the shop, with all that scaffolding and a crane

if the RRS costing 100k can go up all those steps in China, then why couldn't this one get up the steps to the 1st floor ?
