Thanks for your concern YB, but I'm in no pain .... as I don't work for the NT [if I did, then I'd agree with you].

My role as a VR is the 'eyes & ears' of the National Park, looking out for damaged/broken gates, stiles etc, proper path access & surfaces, proper use of paths eg no 4x4's /motorbikes, no cycles on footpaths etc. Dealing with farmers & locals concerns.
Biggest headache of them all though is [irresponsible] dog owners Evil or Very Mad ..... I'll say no more!!! FL2 now gone and have a couple of items left for sale:-

I don’t bother with special walking sticks as I’m normally carrying a monopod for photographic purposes. Without a camera on it it’s good enough for those places where a third leg is useful, it’s lighter (carbon fibre), and it doesn’t click! I agree with others about internal twist locks on sticks. They can be a real pain!
