United Kingdom 2007 Freelander 2 TD4 HSE Auto Firenze Red

Hooked my camera up. The head unit doesn't switch to camera automatically when I go into reverse but I guess I can live with that. BUT... the camera image is in reverse, mirror image with no way of flipping it in the head unit settings. PLUS... I have attached the camera to the rear bumper area above the tow bar which is too low to line up properly so is quite useless. Xtron say the most common placement is above the rear number plate. That means running the leads through the tailgate which I really don't think I can be bothered with.

Does anybody actually get any use out of their camera? If so what model camera do you use and where is it mounted

thanks

I got my camera working properly, make sure the two red wires at the camera end are connected and you connect the radio side red wire to the reverse in wire. Mine works like a charm, straight on when I go into reverse

The video cable on my camera only has one little red wire at each end. What did you connect the red wire to at the camera end?

What camera is yours? I got this one

Yes. A video cable and a power cable that I connected to the back light. Should I also connect the red wire off the video cable to 12v?

Your camera is very similar to mine to mine but not exactly the same.

Maybe I should get yours as mine shows the image the wrong way round which is useless

Connect the power cable black and red to 12v reverse light and a ground then this end is done. then the other end with the plug on also has a red wire. Connect this red wire from to the red wire of the RCA plug at the camera end. Then connect the red wire at the radio end to the "reverse in" wire on the head unit

No worries. The wiring diagrams are really not helpful. They could have explained it a lot easier! You might need an extension lead depending where you run the cable, mine was far too short

Final word from me on this. I have got the reverse camera working perfect now. I found an xtrons camera on ebay made for freelander that replaces the tailgate handle. I strongly recommend it. Only £20

Search on ebay for

I just saw the Xtrons system on E-bay and I am interested in fitting to my 2010 model which came without any sat nav or screen.
Has anyone installed Sygic navigation on one of these units?

Hello All,

I've purchase PB78DLRPL for my FL2 '07 and now is the time to fit it .The car has a standard radio just a CD without a Bluetooth option and the connector on the back of it is different from the one which comes with the PB78DLRPL grey one.The problem I've got is the ACC (red wire) , I can took that voltage from the instrument cluster fuse but that means when the engine is stopped the navi will be also off. What I really needs to find and need as help is to find 12 + when I only insert the key without pressing and holding the start button. Can anyone please assist with the wiring?

Thanks!

Hi all,

Two quick questions:
- how's the mic quality on this unit? Can people at the other end hear you well in a phone call?
- did anyone use a carplay dongle (something like this https://www.aliexpress.com/item/Carlinke-C...9768.html) with this unit?

Thanks a lot for any feedback, should be really useful for a fellow forum member to decide whether to buy this thing or not! MY2011, TD4 Auto, Xenon headlights, fog lamps DRLs, sunroof, tinted windows, almond electric seats w/ lumbar support, leather steering wheel w/ audio controls, dog/luggage guard, ambient lights, flush Whispbars, Mantec sump&tank guards, Xtrons Head Unit

Hello all.
I have this unit and I have installed it a a full entertainment system.
I have 2 rear dvd headrests and freeview tv. Dvr camera, reversing camera and upgraded the sat nav it is packaged with to igo.
I also have an obd adaptor using the torque app.
You can increase the default turn on volume in settings.
I have replaced the small speaker it comes with with a better quality item and fitted an external volume control so that sat nav can be heard when using stock radio. I plan on fitting a ps2 slim too. Just need to find 1.

Hi Round,
Looks like a really cool installation! Are you using it for calls as well - and if so, how's the quality at the other end?
