Tow Bar mounted cycle carrier

Can any one help?
I have a Freelander 2 with a flange plate tow hitch. I tow a Bailey Ranger 460-4. I want to fit a bike rack and am thinking about getting a 2 bike Voyager Flange from MaxxRaxx. I am concerned about the clearance from the bikes to the caravan whilst towing and whether I need to also invest in an extension/raising kit.

Is there anyone out there with any experience/advice on this matter?

John

I have a Maxx Raxx. Had it for just over a year, although only used it maybe 3 or 4 times with the van on. Only used it with 2 kids bikes, although it will take 4.

I must admit to feeling nervous about clearance, but haven't had any problems so far. I do have the lift kit but haven't used it. That said, last time out was the first time with the boys new bikes and I found I had to take the front wheels off due to the bigger wheels and sloping top tubes. Very setup is going to be different I think.
