About to place an order for a new Ewok and best they can do is offer 10.5k for
our 2013 facelift TD4 GS with 46k on clock and with leather, side steps and unmarked Ewok 18 inch wheels.

Available for £11k to any forum member interested before I part ex.

Cheers

I know what I would do if the car has been reliable keep your car as it’s low miles as you are virtually giving it away for 10.5k and spend the money on other enjoyments ( holidays etc ) as 4yrs down the line the Ewok would have cost you a fortune in depreciation once you drive that new car out of the garage you loose 5k straight away.Thumbs Up

Dealer prepared to pay £10.5k and you’re offering it on here for £11k.

In this current climate the dealer won’t lose a sale over £500. Tell them more cash or walk away and keep the car.

When I traded the D5 in after only 10 months, my dealer offered £40k, a £13k drop from new Shocked. I sat all afternoon in the showroom until I got the £45k I was willing to let it go for, knowing that my spec was selling for £48-49k and £2k off the Velar. They wanted the sale more than I wanted the Velar, I even got almost top of the range one, I only wanted a base model.

My DS I hated that car, sold it back to the dealer, £39k new, got £36k for it after 7months. Went back to a new D4. The D5 is the biggest deprecation on a car I’ve had. 21MY Defender 90 S 3.0 D200

There were hundreds of them on a BBC breakfast news article this morning about car manufacture and Brexit - all lined up at a port / or storage area . Obviously old footage

Stock photos from inside the MINI factory at Cowley are the usual staple, normally showing pre-2005 R50’s being assembled Rolling Eyes

It’s back up to 64 now.

I wonder if, now that they’ve foisted off the obsolete D5’s production line to Eastern Europe (like Fiat did for Lada?!), have they set up a Classic Freelander 2 refurbishment facility in the newly available space at Solihull?! Wink Thumbs Up

Why do you reckon that is?
Is it LR's back handed way of realising they've made a boo-boo with the D5? FL2 now gone and have a couple of items left for sale:-

Brodit active iPhone holder + Brodit dash clip,
Bluetooth Music Streaming Module.

It sold within a month for £48k, it was £53k inc options, £51k was its list price. I traded in in January, the dealer principal was being over cautious as car sales in general were on the slump. Originally I wanted to take delivery of my Velar, to my spec, around May but they wouldn’t guarantee the £45k I eventually got for it.

So it could be design, or could just be the current climate.

In contrast though my D4 was technically sold months before I got my D5, the customer agreed to wait until I got mine, so the D4 never hit forecourt.

My DS sat 5 months and sold for less than I got for it Very Happy 21MY Defender 90 S 3.0 D200

Supply and demand.

If more people want a product than what’s available that’s the result.

But these figures are completely distorted by there being no direct replacement for the FL2; for those wanting to replace their elderly Freelanders these, hardly used, late FL2’s are a serious alternative to a new DS and are priced as such.

A top spec, ultra low mileage FL2, priced at £6-7,000 less than a new, scum spec, 4WD, auto, DS actually sounds like good value for money Thumbs Up

I think the Freelander 2 will remain popular. The Discovery Sport (supposed replacement) looks much like any other SUV and now it has been given the “Don’t Buy” accolade by Which? because of its poor reliability there is really no incentive to trade in for the newer model. I intend hanging on to my Freelander! 2014 Freelander 2 TD4 GS Auto
