Nice one Mowog
Out of interest and not wishing to offend, and assuming(which is a dangerous thing to do!) that you neighbour is still following this post, has he been offended by police persons being referred to as mr plod.? Whistle
Cheers

No,not at all.( you should hear what I call him)
He retired about 3 yrs ago and has a BIG motorbike.

All kinds of unmentionable stories from him.

I have the utmost respect for what he did for many years.

My hairy downhill sections where over Tahir Pass from Turkey to Iran (all year round)
Or saving the tunnel money by using Mont Genevre and Mont Cenis on the way to Italy (summer only)

But that was in the days of non electronic Scanias.

ps
I love Romney Marsh, one of the best places I have ever been to.

United Kingdom 2013 Freelander 2 SD4 HSE Auto Indus Silver

An interesting read & not wanting to take sides one way or the other. I was taught to drive at a level above that of 'normal' road users back in the 90s with an emphasis on 'making progress'. That said, there are certain roads around where I live that form part of a training route & often carry what appear to be bog standard saloons in dull boring colours & which on closer observation are typically '4 up' with an instructor & trainees in it. My last encounter with one of these might not have passed as well as it did if I had not been on the ball... lets just say the driver was exceeding not only the limits of the car but her own limits by some degree!

hi mowog
I have 2 family members in the force, one now retired,as well as one of my old crewmates daughters(in traffic div plus their son in law in the met,i spoke to 2 of them and have no problem with plod or old bill, they thought that a rather quaint name compared to some of the vile terms now used against them. Wink
I was also well into superbikes yam fzr1000 suzuki gsxr1100 and Honda cbr900rr all frighteningly quick, these would hold an f1 car in initial acceleration, but in the end got tofastforme.com and had to go.mainly at swmbo,s insistence Bow down
we have been on the marsh for over 30 years lovely place but desolate in the winter.
cheers

There you have it then
everyone whether they are police trained,F1,fire/ambulance services, etc etc has a different level of ability, you can only hope these will be graded out of the system as their shortcomings are checked out.(an odd question BUT,who checks the checkers Question )

NO
TOTALY TRUE
as you say it livened it up a bit.i shall still enquire as to whether this is allowed on public roads, which no doubt it is after a couple of in depth replies.
however
it was still a bit alarming all the same.and for the average bod it did not look good or safe no matter what has been said,i was there. Exclamation
hence my title
jollyboys outing.
I shall look on fleabay for a sim card with bigger memory in any case.
cheers
