I would take this with a very large pinch of salt - I just tried my office address (I work for a Bank and we therefore sit behind some very tight security) and I have also been done for 3 security breaches.

I dumped a LinkedIn account and a couple of years later I was getting spam from what looked like Linkedin so there is some credence in this I feel as it was on my report list from this web page. FL2 MY10 TD4 GS traded in at 2 years

I built and run a number of local websites for things like the local village hall, women's institute, parish council etc etc etc. They run on a professional hosting site and I have had to install some extra firewall software as occasionally one would get hacked and start sending out thousands of spam emails. The firewall software informs me every time there is an attempt to break in and I get several alerts of failed attempts per day. A lot of attacks come from Russia or eastern Europe or the far east. Now if a village hall website is getting that much attention just think what a bank must get! It's like the wild west out there. 3 x FL1 2 manual + 1 auto

A lot of truth in that re data attacks, my son has just been aproached by a large international data services company to help keep it cyber safe. Serious money and perks but it’s us as end users that ultimately have to fund that.
