United Kingdom 2013 Freelander 2 SD4 HSE Auto Santorini Black
My very first Land Rover

hello all,
I pick my very first Land Rover up next Saturday.
An SD4 HSE auto 63 plate with 45 k on the old clock.
Full dealer service History.
My previous car was Mitsubishi ASX 4x4 1.8 d.
But now I have got a wobble box I thought I’d get something more beffier.
I know nowt about them apart from I’ve always wanted one 😂😂
My job is driving shipping containers all over the country during the week.
Looking forward to learning a lot.
Regards Greggy

Welcome, I did similar a few months ago. Got a MY15 SD4 with 16 1/2 K on it, now got over 20K after trips to S Wales and Orkney. Effortless cruising and great in the Cairngorms etc. Thinking of putting a Bluespark tuning box on it though to even out turbo lag.

Enjoy Thumbs Up

Micken will a tuning box speed up the turbo acceleration?

I think the only way is something like Volvo's excellent elelectrically assisted turbo. A very good idea. FL2 XS SD4 Auto 2010 2012-2017 (21k - 91k miles) (MY2011)

IM - according to what I’ve read on various websites and the suppliers website the version that has a third lead that connects to the turbo control will achieve this.

Interestingly my 16 year old Volvo V70 D5 that has a vacuum controlled turbo is very willing to spool up compared with the SD4.

Welcome, pictures naturally required!
I think you'll enjoy your Freelander, the Sd4 is delightful to drive and will pull a caravan very well.
Dont forget to say hello to Chicken George, he's the forum's caravan appreciation society president and always welcomes new caravanners to the fold. Rolling with laughter Landrover - turning owners into mechanics since 1948
