United Kingdom 2014 Freelander 2 SD4 XS Auto Loire Blue

Just had a look at the approved used list and some of the vehicles have quite high mileage considering that they are "approved", the highest is a 14 reg with 87.8k miles. I thought that there used to be a limit of 60k but selling a car with nearly 90k on it and offering a 2 year unlimited mileage warranty must tell us something. 3 x FL1 2 manual + 1 auto
5 x FL2 4 manual + 1 auto
Now Discovery Sport P250 MHEV SE

While at the other end of the scale, there are cars like this:

http://www.usedvehicles.landrover.co.uk/search#/details/2851746

But look at that price! At four years old, it’s not far off the (discounted) price when they were new and not far off the price of a very basic new Disco Sport. That really says something about Land Rover’s aability to build a new car for this market.

PS: it stands at 50 this morning Thumbs Up

United Kingdom 2007 Freelander 2 TD4 HSE Manual Stornoway Grey

That one is sold now! I am finding it difficult to find a good used older FL2. I have looked at a couple but they needed too much spending on them on top of an overly inflated asking price. I walked away.

The used market is pretty buoyant at the moment so I think patience is required. I can't help but think a few people are going to get their fingers burnt with the current used FL2 prices. My old, low mileage HSE would be probably worth about £12K in the current market if I had kept it. I paid £16.5K at three years old so it would of depreciated by £4.5k in 6 years. The FL2 seems to be going the way of the Defender with prices increasing for the good ones. Will it last??

Much as I really respect the Freelander, I can't see that it can last. With no current equivalent available new from Land Rover, even at these inflated prices, they still look not only better, but also like very good value for money when compared to the current offerings. However, they will have to drop out of the dealer networks during the next 18 months as they can no longer be covered by the "Approved" scheme and with them subsequently moving into the unfranchised used dealers and private adds they have finally got to depreciate!

Land Rover may have failed to replace it, but others are having a good go and there are more quality alternatives available to those who are prepared to drop £26,000 on a 4 year old Freelander than ever before and that's only going to get more so.

I just paid 25k for one with 6,900 MLS on it, and very happy indeed.

Good, that means we're both happy Very Happy

Where can I find another?

I wanted privacy glass and factory tow bar and Landrover approved and low mileage

Didn't care how much it was

Only wanted a Freelander

And forgot.....black seats as well

Depreciation won't come into it as I will be dead before that happens Rolling with laughter

The dealer from which I bought mine said that they sell themselves (Freelander) and never sit in stock for long, plenty of customers still want a lower mileage Fl2. I know I did Thumbs Up Landrover - turning owners into mechanics since 1948

Quite an amazing number, and a heck of a lot of them with low miles too.

Mind you £24k for a 64 plate Metropolis is pricey now. But then thats dealers for you.

It's just a pity they don't price your Par Ex as favourably.

About to place an order for a new Ewok and best they can do is offer 10.5k for
our 2013 facelift TD4 GS with 46k on clock and with leather, side steps and unmarked Ewok 18 inch wheels.

Available for £11k to any forum member interested before I part ex.

Cheers

Tom

Up to 64 now!

Interestingly:

http://www.usedvehicles.landrover.co.uk/search#/details/2866009

It’s not dissimilar to yours h20, just 9,000 miles less and £4,000 more in asking price. Taking into account the lower mileage, the fact that they’ll need to prep it, possibly find a set of standard wheels, pay for a 2 year warranty, allocate a proportion of dealership overheads, give discount from their asking price and subtract 20% VAT from any remaining profit, then £10,500 as a trade in price is probably about right Sad

Hope you can find someone to buy it here instead though Thumbs Up

What is terribly sad is that there are only 19 Defenders available nationwide.
