Either or mate will do just remember the upgraded brighter bulbs won’t last as long as they produce more light. If your keeping the car a long time then go out and buy xenon headlamps trust me you won’t regret it. Thumbs Up MY14 Kahn Converted Dynamic - Fuji White Ebony/Pimento Interior

LRNUT - I hardly use the car at night and as the morning will be getting lighter i don't think it's worth upgrading to xenons.

JulesK - that sounds great, car is going to the Indy this week so i'll ask if they can do it otherwise i'll book it in with the main dealers Thumbs Up

Think I read somewhere that it main dealer only, same here about changing lights seems a lot of expense. Hopefully this fix will mean a brighter lamp can be put in. Rolling Eyes If it wasn't so bad it'd be funny.

Well the 2 pairs of bulbs i ordered on sunday off ebay from a local place 4 miles away still haven't arrived even though delivery was for tues/ weds this week Mad got in car this morning, switched on lights and the other bulb blew so i now have no headlight working (great for 4.30am starts).

Now the car is in the indys so do i buy 2 bulbs from them when i pick it up tommorow or risk waiting for the 2 pairs to arrive in the post............................................ Rolling Eyes

I bought mine new and I don’t regret it at all. It’s not about the cost of bulbs but the inconvenience and the safety aspects are the main concern. Winters up here are long and day light is extremely short. HB3 bulbs have pathetic light output and it’s dangerous driving with them on an unlit road. I went through 14 bulbs in the first two years! Then I seen the light and purchased a pair of brand spanking new MY15 xenon headlights that’s came with a two year warranty Mr. Green MY14 Kahn Converted Dynamic - Fuji White Ebony/Pimento Interior

Rob stockpile mate as you’ll be chewing through the HB3’s. I always kept a spare set so that I was never waiting on bulbs to arrive. Turning off the auto lights and headlamp delay and they will last longer also. MY14 Kahn Converted Dynamic - Fuji White Ebony/Pimento Interior

LR know what you mean about keeping a stock on board but don't forget the 10mm spanner as well.
I hope this LR resistor wire fix works and perhaps get something brighter and keep saving Laughing If it wasn't so bad it'd be funny.

I asked about the fix at the indys and was told it's a wire with a resistor in - connected from bulb to light unit - £36 each Shocked he said all who tried to get it done FOC at the main dealers had to pay...............

The Ring bulbs (if they arrive) are £5 a pair so if i buy another 12 pairs it'll work out the same as the fix Very Happy

Robbie perhaps it's I'm under warranty (not me personally Laughing ) but mine are getting done next week.
But 99% sure this was a FREE fix by JLR and think I said on here that I was told it was dealer only Thumbs Up If it wasn't so bad it'd be funny.

Does anyone know is this just a resister in series with the bulb feed? If so it will presumably decrease the light output Confused

These don't blow like a filament bulb does AND they give several times the light output .......... just sayin' Whistle
They also work superbly with projector headlights ( reflectors can dazzle )
