UPDATE GREAT NEWS THOUGHT ABOUT PAYING FOR ANOTHER MOT TEST...... Idea

RANG THREE OTHER MOT TESTING STATIONS EXPLAINED ABOUT HEADLAMP WASH JET MOT FAILURE,,

ALL THREE SAID THAT THEY WOULD PASS AS OK... AS MYFREELANDER DOES NOT HAVE HID OR LED LIGHTS OR SELF LEVELING ADJUSTMENT

WHICH DEMAND THE HEADLAMP WASHER TO BE WORKING PLUS ANY SELF LEVELING ADJUSTMENT ALSO OPERATIONAL

INFORMED THE STATION WHICH FAILED MY CAR AND THEY CONCEDED (after ringing ROSPA ! ) THAT THEY MADE A MISTAKE

AND PROMPTLY ISSUED MY SHINY NEW MOT CERT Thumbs Up

Will still fix the jet when warmer ... looks a though the pipe has come adrift as a pool by the front wheel

CHEERS PETE

Hi Folks.

We are contemplating a little investment in a FL2 which will be purely for a little fun and taking the dog/bikes out and about.
Budget is small (£3.5- £4k) as this will primarily be a weekend motor to take us away from the monotony of present cars we use for work.
Looking around reveals a fair few FL2's about with high mileages as one would expect.
Unsure if posting in this particular topic is the right way of asking about what we should be looking for (bit ambiguous I know) so apologies if it doesn't belong here.

Cheers

Hi

Hi all,

Really pleased to find this forum and looking forward to learning a great deal and to maintain my enthusiasm for Terry The Tangerine Truck.

We have had Terry for around 7 years now and he is coming up to his 11th birthday.

Last year was somewhat onerous with 120K service, new clutch, new rear socks, a rear wheel bearing and a few other bits. Aside blowing a turbo pipe and actuator a couple of years back Terry has been faultless and cost little more than annual services and consumables. The turbo actuator was covered by the extended warranty so all good.

Terry is our second Freelander as we have had a MkI which was breathed on by JE Engineering. We had an X Type 3.0 Sport after the Mk 1 but it drank fuel like it was going out of fashion. Terry doubles the millage I got from the Jaaaag.

I have pondered other cars but cant really see the point in changing. Terry was fully loaded at birth, with about every toy available, so to get something with as much as functionality as Terry would be a small fortune and not really gain much. I have driven a number of the last Freelanders, Disco Sports etc and, aside a much nicer engine, they don't do anything more than Terry does,

United Kingdom 2015 Freelander 2 SD4 Metropolis LE Auto Firenze Red

Hi everyone, I've just joined the family and bought a low milage MY15 FL 2.2 SD4 Metropolis Auto. It replaces a Nissan Terrano 2 3l Auto which I need to sell now. It's going to be interesting moving from a full on 4x4 with transfer box and ladder chassis to what the FL offers. Hope to search out some good info on things like boot liners and dog guards, etc.

Cheers,

Mick

Welcome Thumbs Up

I6 is not that common in UK so treat it with care. The colonials Laughing on here will be able to help with engine type issues than most of us who are local. FL2 MY10 TD4 GS traded in at 2 years

Greetings - just joined, first post. My beloved FR2 has hit the 113,000 mark and after years of loyal service it’s all going a bit Pete Tong. Big Cry Cracked windscreen, fractured front off side spring (replace and events unconnected) and now dreaded yellow engine fault sign - ‘sucking air’ sound and slight loss of power on acceleration ..... should I start to panic? I’m very uninformed re all things mechanical so grateful for any views re the latter point especially. RAC due out but can I drive home (200 miles) or is that too risky?

Cheers all
