Most common cause would be a split hose.

I’ve got the exact same problem. I can hear a sucking sound on acceleration so was thinking it’s a hose too. Can you tell which hose/where it is please?

The most common one to fail is the short one connected to the throttle body, at the front centre of the engine. It normally makes quite a whooshing noise under power! (Now Sold). 2008 Freelander 2 (Nazca Sand) SE TD4 Auto. Statutory write off & on WOVR for hail damage but still road legal.

When you had this problem did it change up the gears fast? (Automatic)

Update on this, drove fine after fix for bout 1hr then went into limp mode and cout out. Pulled over onto hard shoulder and it re started after two attempts and drove fine. Every time I accelerated hard it went into limp mode, plus reduced engine performance. Drove it the rest of the day, just dint boot it and if it did do it again pulled over and restarted and it cleared.
