Haldex oil leak.

As a new freelander owner I have been reading this forum and it’s been a great help!

I crawled under ours today to check out the Haldex pump and low and behold it’s damp with oil. Attached are the pics, it’s not by the way giving any symptoms of failure, but the oil everywhere is concerning me. Anyone else had this?

Cheers!

Just check the oil level first and remember its not just a fill. You fill and remove "X" amount so someone may have overfilled it. It does mean buying some Haldex oil though to fill fully, follow the sequence and then remove the X amount.

I think X is 120 CC but you can search that out on here.

Then thoroughly clean off all old oil and re-check for leaks. Nothing to panic about at this stage. You need to be sure its not diff oil leaking of course.

If you only just purchased this off a garage its their problem not yours. FL2 MY10 TD4 GS traded in at 2 years

I have been reading up about it on here and then I thought I better take a look so was quite surprised to see it so damp.

Like I said, no symptoms of failing, Car is running sweet as a nut but I really want to keep on top of it!
