Will a Disco 4 steering wheel fit on a MY2013 Freelander 2?

Hi there, I'm trying to find a replacement steering wheel for my Freelander 2 MY2013 but can't find any Freelander specific ones for sale. I have however noticed a lot of Disco 4 steering wheels for sale on eBay which are identical looking button wise to the Freelander wheel but I wasn't sure if it was the same fitment wise?
Does anybody know if a Disco 4 steering wheel would fit, please?

Many thanks,

No, it won't fit.
I believe one is spline and the other isn't. FL2 now gone and have a couple of items left for sale:-

Brodit active iPhone holder + Brodit dash clip,
Bluetooth Music Streaming Module.

Yes, D4 is a spline fitting and the FL2 is a hex fitting.

Thanks for the picture, appreciate it. Out of curiosity have you had your wheel re-trimmed, please? Freelander 2 XS 2013

Yes, got it done at Royal Steering Wheels.

Did buy the newer FL2 steering wheel, but the electronics weren't available at that time to get the switches to work.
So went for the re-cover of the original instead.
Still delighted with it a few years on. FL2 now gone and have a couple of items left for sale:-

I'm looking to get a wheel re-trimmed by them as the stock one on my car is really thin so fancy something a bit chunkier for my bigger hands. Wanted to source a another wheel so I don't have down time on my car.
Out of curiosity is the bare bones wheel the same across all model years of the Freelander 2 and it's just the buttons and cover that is different? Freelander 2 XS 2013

As I eluded to on an earlier post, the switches on the newer wheel are not compatible on models that have the older wheel [as mine].
You can however now get [aftermarket] electronics that convert the newer one to work. FL2 now gone and have a couple of items left for sale:-

Electronics aside, as I will be taking them off my old wheel and transferring to another wheel. What I would like to know is the actual metal structure of the wheel (see image for reference) the same throughout the various ages of Freelander 2 2007-2015, please? Thanks.

I ordered a new wheel from Royal Steering Wheels.
Extra thick and soft for "that Formula 1 feel"!
Well worth it. It´s like a different car. The old one was thin and sticky. Terrible although it was supposed to be leather.

Thanks for the reply torssell for your reply. Can I ask, did you supply your own spare wheel to be re-trimmed or did you get one supplied by Royal Steering Wheels as an exchange, please? Freelander 2 XS 2013

Yes, I paid with an extra deposit and got the wheel after a couple of weeks.
We shifted the wheels as on the pic, then I sent the old wheel to Royal Steering Wheels and got the deposit back.

They were easy to deal with and several choices about materials and colours could be made, I was first into two tone leather with suede or tan leather but they and others advised me not to, on an offroad car.

I might just go down that route of an exchange wheel from Royal Steering Wheels instead of sourcing a spare and sending it off. Thanks all for your help on this. Freelander 2 XS 2013

What sort of cost was it for a steering wheel from royal as i'm looking at sorting my steering wheel and it seems to be 150-200 to get a bog standard one on ebay. So wondering about getting a nice one and having them fit it.

are we talking £500 ish all in? 2010 Freelander2 TD4_e GS
